Internet Consulting
I'm David Harvey, and I have worked in the I.T.
Industry for twenty years ... starting in the
1980s as Office Automation Officer in Royal North
Shore Hospital, then as a PC Support guy for Woolworths
I.T. I have contracted as a Help Desk Operator, a Desktop
Engineer and as a Novell Network Engineer.
Before that I used to be a journalist, and I worked for
newspapers and radio in Australia and overseas during the 1970s
and 1980s.
My past employers in Sydney Australia have
included Burns Philps, Maersk Shipping Lines, IBM Global
Services, Mercantile Mutual, Kimberley Clark, Price Waterhouse,
Telstra Australia, EMC, and other big names. (Many of these
jobs were contract positions.)
None of my I.T. work taught me about the Internet -
which didn't become popular until the late 1990s. No
courses I did involved setting up websites, and there was
nothing about actually making money from those websites.
It was the Wild Frontier, which is why there was such a crash
of the Dot Bombs. (When people optimistically threw money into
the early Internet businesses.)
I had to buy books, e-books, videos and other
products and courses from Internet Enterpreneurs such as
Dr Ken Evoy (Make Your Site Sell), Marlon Sanders
(Pushbutton Sales Letters, Gimme My Money Now! and the
Amazing Formula)... also the late great Cory Rudl
(Internet Marketing), Yanik Silver
(Copywriting), Dr. Andy Williams (niche sites,
keyword analysis and SEO).
I stopped my I.T. contracting to
concentrate on my growing stable of web sites
and make money directly from the Internet. But I can
be available for consulting about designing, creating and
optimizing websites that attract visitors.
Once you have targeted visitors (people who are truly
searching for the kind of thing you supply) then that traffic
can be turned into money.
