Dr Ken Evoy, MD, author of Make Your Site Sell!

Doctor Ken Evoy created a powerful website-building system for Internet dummies, which he named Site Build It, but it's commonly known now as just SBI.

You open an account on the Site Build It servers, chose a domain name and let the machine shows you exactly how to build web pages which the search engines love, and they index those pages quickly. The indexed pages then draw interested prospects to your pages of prose.

It all started for me when I purchased an ebook named MYSS (which stands for Make Your Site Sell) and it taught me much about writing for Internet pages, and how to please both your human readers and the search engines like Google while you're at it.

Dr Ken Evoy stresses strongly that it is the words that bring in prospects and which turn them into customers. He says imagine a web page with pictures and no words... Can it sell anything? The answer must be no. Now, imagine a web page with all words and no pictures... Can that sell? And the answer has to be yes.

The Site Build It system helps you assemble pages which please your readers and which do well with the search engines too, and SBI's unique software tools help you brainstorm for keywords that potential customers might use to find your site, and show you how to build your pages and site to fit the most profitable terms.

Dr Evoy also stresses the importance of pre selling your website's visitors if you're going to pass them on to another merchant, rather than trying to do a hard sell. Your job is to warm them up, have them like you a little and feed good about what they have read on your site... Then they'll be more receptive when a click from you sends them to a merchant who will make the sale.

Now you sent them there because you're an affiliate of that merchant. An affiliate is a sales rep who gets paid on results only. When he makes a sale because of you, you get paid a commission.

Ken Evoy's internet marketing ebooks (there is a whole series of them) explain that selling over the Internet is different from dealing with somebody face to face.

Your visitors can't see you and judge you, and there's no way they can read your body language in a conversation. But if you can write authoritative and interesting words on your pages, then you can start to be seen as an authority who knows what he (or she) is talking about. And here is where a regular newsletter can often be a great help.
